ASCI Meeting
November 12, 2004



1. The bylaws were unanimously confirmed by the membership via an electronic vote.
2. Clarify in the bylaws what years each officers are elected. i.e. President, President Elect and Immediate Past President are elected on even Years, Secretary and Treasurer are elected on odd years? After discussion, those attending believed that this would not require a bylaw change, only a clarification to the membership.
3. Alliance for Nursing Informatics (ANI) Nancy, Jackie and Tony reported on the call with the ANI leadership. Group members were very positive and excited about joining the umbrella organization. Those attending unanimously approved our affiliation with this group. Also approved, was our affiliation on the local level with the Alabama Hospital Association.
4. Members conducted an interesting discussion on the pitfalls and future of information systems.
5. Educational offerings: Tony will contact those members who have expressed an interest in presenting and arrange a schedule for the next couple of months. 
6. Flyer: Jackie will email flyer to all members to post at their institutions and pass along to others who may be interested in joining.
7. Next meeting will be December 10th.
8. Jackie Moss will serve as interim representative to ANI.
