OLD BUSINESS:
* Review of First Meeting:  
o Amy Yates reviewed the activities from the first meeting on June 11, 2004
* Chapter Affiliation Review and Decision:
o Agreed to be associated with the Alabama Hospital Association (AlaHA)
o The name of the group will be Clinical Informatics

* Next Steps
o There will be no restriction on who may be a member
o Meetings will be held monthly
o Dues will be $25 per year
* Dues will not be collected immediately (Once set up with AlaHA and a bank account is arranged then dues will be collected)

o Officers were elected as follows:
* President:	  Nancy Campbell, Baptist Health System
* Vice President:  	  Jackie Moss, UAB School of Nursing
* Treasuer:	  Barbara Doster, UAB
* Secretary:	  Becky Favor, Healthlink Inc.

o An Education Committee was formed:
* Jackie Moss, UAB
* Tony Ruffino, Baptist Health System
* Carol Donaldson, Baptist Health System
* Darlene Mathis, Samford School of Nursing
* Barbara McLendon, Gadsden Regional Medical Center
* Phyllis Haynes, St. Vincent’s Hospital

* Cathy Bottoms, Gadsden Regional Medical Center
o CEUs are being provided for today’s meeting
* Darlene Mathis is the coordinator
* Anyone attending who wants credit can send Darlene (dpmathis@samford.edu) their nursing license number

NEW BUSINESS
* The next meeting is planned for Friday, August 13 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM
o It will be in the same room (Room 111) in the Center for Healing Arts Building at Samford
* Agendas for future meetings will be structured as follows:
o Old Business
o New Business
o Education Program
o Sharing what is going on among the hospitals
o Group discussion of Hot Topics
* Recruiting of additional members:
o AlaHA has affiliation lists that can be used to reach out to other organizations and provide information about the group to recruit new members

o Presenter:  Beverly Golightly, RN, MSHA, Information Technology, Eastern Health System
* The presentation from UAB was delayed until the September meeting due to lack of time
